My Crafting Partners

It's so nice to have someone with whom to share my craft room. My daughter Kate is an Etsy seller too. She's been working hard on her beaded bobby pins. They are soooo pretty. Prom and Wedding season is keeping her busy.

This is Kate in her corner of the room.

My other crafting companion is Grizabella. She has found the scrap interfacing crate under my cutting table. I guess I can no longer say that my items come from an animal-free environment. Oh well. She's just too cute.

I've been busy with some big orders. Here are a few buds in progress.

And here is another new bag. I made this one for my sister's sister-in-law to carry on the golf course.

And, that's what's going on in the craft room tonight. I hope you all have great companions like mine! :)

Okay, I admit it, my weekly guilty pleasure is "Glee". I can't wait for the Lady Gaga episode tonight. Yay!

Busy Weekend...

What a busy weekend in the sewing room. I had several big orders to complete and a graduation gift to make. I'll show pictures after I give the gift. I was able to make a few new fobs for the shop. I love this new collection of fabrics by Patricia Bravo for Art Gallery called Sugar.

One Moment Week #6

My one moment this week happened during the Wednesday evening yoga class that I am taking with my daughter. The very first position was one where you put your rear end up against the wall and your legs are up in the air leaning on the wall. Very attractive, let me tell you. But, I wish you had seen me trying to get into the pose. You would have had a big laugh. I think my daughter was embarrassed. Oh well, we can't all be graceful.

What was your 'one moment' this week? What took you out of your present moment and made you pause, smile, slow down? Click on the OM icon at the side of this blog to read all about it and then go to Linda's home page to see the latest entry.

Embracing the Rain

Well, it's raining again. I am really looking forward to some sunshine. But, in the meantime, I'm learning to embrace the beauty of the rain... Or, at least the rain on some beautiful things.

My Latest Project

Have you ever had one of those days where you want to work on something in your sewing room and you just don't know what? Well, Sunday was that kind of day for me. So, I grabbed some of my new fabrics and started cutting. I know, I know, not always a good idea. More than not, I end up trashing what ever I start. But, this time I think I ended up with something pretty cool. Now, what do I turn it into? Hmmm....

Wordle

I found a cool little tool today while reading a favorite blog. It's called Wordle. "Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends."

Kind of fun, huh?

One Moment Week #5

Being the mother of a 21 year old son and 23 year old daughter is never dull. I can remember when my kids would play for hours on their own and not surface from their room until they needed food. They were constant companions nearly 20 years ago. Now a days, they live separate lives. I am fortunate to have them both home this summer. Sam is busy with his friends and band and Kate is busy with her job and the theatre. So, they don't see much of each other. But, tonight my husband, Sam and I went to see Kate perform. She has the role of Fraulein Kost in Cabaret. Now, musical theatre is definitely not my son's favorite thing. Nevertheless, he sat in the audience and clapped and stood for the ovation. After the show, we waited for the actors to congratulate them. Sam went up and gave Kate a big hug. It made me flash back to those days when they were inseparable. It brought a tear to my eye and a flutter to my heart. I love those moments.

My Yard in May

I love this time of year. Especially in my yard. I think the bushes and flowers are at their most beautiful right now.

Starting a Yoga Class Tonight

It's a beginning class, so I think it will be a while before I can do any of this. HA!
